 What is CERT?

 

Registration for CERT Training - March 2025

2025 CERT Training: 

March 7, 2025       Friday: 6:00 - 10:00

March 8, 2025       Saturday: 8:30 - 5:30

March 9,2025        Sunday: 8:30 - 5:30

 

What You Will Learn:

  • The types of hazards that are most likely to affect your community.
  • The functions of CERT and where you as a CERT member fit into the response to a disaster.
  • How to be prepared for a disaster before it occurs.
  • How to mitigate potential hazards within your home, workplace, and community.
  • How to work as a team with fellow CERT members.
  • Basic fire safety and small fire suppression tactics.
  • How to perform a head-to-toe medical assessment.
  • How to administer first aid for various types of wounds.
  • How to open an airway, control bleeding, and treat shock.
  • How to apply a splint.
  • How to select and set up a treatment area.
  • How to conduct triage.
  • How to identify, plan for, and size-up a potential search and rescue situation.
  • How to safely search a structure.
  • How to correctly extricate and transport a victim to safety.

 Requirements:

  • This entire training is in-person, and hands-on
  • Estimated Time: 20 hours
  • Participants must attend all days and times in order to receive final certificate of course completion
